I am standing for a Midlands Regional Seat on the Executive Committee for the 2027 / 2028 term of office.
If you are a musician based in the Midlands and a member of the MU, please consider giving me your vote.
The dates for the ballot are:
Opens: Monday 05 October 2026 (Ballot packs will be posted to all eligible MU Members)
Close: Monday 02 November 2026 (After delivery of the post that day)
Independent musicians work hard to bring music, creativity and joy into people’s lives, often without the financial security, recognition, wellbeing support or fair rewards they deserve.
As a member of the MU Executive Committee, I have worked to be a voice for freelancers, campaigning for fair gig/session fees, transparent royalty payments and support for working musicians.
Your vote for me is a vote for grassroots musicians: those travelling from gig to gig performing in venues, festivals, weddings and care homes; teaching, running workshops and creating new work in studios.
I’m proud of the Executive Committee’s progress towards diversity and a culture where every voice is heard and valued, but there is much more to do.
The forthcoming Artificial Intelligence Bill offers a historic opportunity to strengthen copyright law and fix music streaming. My mission: for Parliament to ensure music makers receive a fairer share of the revenue their work creates.
