I feel lucky to have experienced some great gigs recently, including a sold out headline show at Old Joint Stock Theatre, and supports with the inspiring Scott Matthews, Simone Felice and Graham Gouldman…met tons of lovely folks too…a big warm welcome to this list if you’re a newcomer:)
BIRMINGHAM – THE STUDIO – FRIDAY JULY 4th
Tickets are now on sale for what will be my last Birmingham headline show for quite a while – Friday July 4th at The Studio, 7 Cannon St, Birmingham B2 5EP
Located on Canon Street (just off New St) The Studio offers an oasis of calm in the heart of the city. With a summer BBQ on the secluded roof terrace, seated music hall, and a well stocked bar (!) – ‘The Studio’ makes a great place to enjoy a summer concert and a BBQ meal. The Studio are offering a special menu for this event, to book, and for full details click here
I’ll be playing with a band line up featuring Paul Connop on ambient/soundscape guitar and Anja McCloskey on accordion.
For info on how to find the Studio and where to park and stuff click here
Filmmaker Anthony Davies has just released new footage of live tracks from the full band show at Birmingham Conservatoire last December, view here.
Following our joint Canadian Tour, Anja McCloskey and I will reunite for live dates around the UK in July. Anja will be celebrating the release of her second album “Quincy Who Waits” on Sotones Records. We’re heading to 7 different towns, for a full list of dates click here
LONDON – ST PANCRAS OLD CHURCH – JULY 9th
An exciting triple bill featuring Esther Dee and Anja McCloskey.
St Pancras Old Church has been a site of meditation for over 800 years, and makes a truly unique music listening venue. The room has a great natural reverb, seated, there’s an upright acoustic piano, and it’s located within 5mins walking distance of St Pancras/Kings Cross and 10mins from Euston rail stations.
I’m very pleased to announce a September tour supporting the wonderful duo: Trevor Moss and Hannah-Lou who are currently out on the road across Europe with Tori Amos. They’re loved for their beautiful harmonies and singing into a shared microphone, “with the soft thrum of their acoustic guitars holding up their angelic vocal narrative, there’s so much harmony here that you forget about how discordant everything else is outside of the beautiful world they’ve built” NME
Not forgetting Moseley Folk Festival on Aug 30th, the next few months are starting to look really exciting…thank you for reading this, and continuing to come out to my gigs.
