Song Fishing – Musicians Union songwriting workshop with Dan Whitehouse

May 19 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

EXCLUSIVE to MU members only – become an MU member HERE

Directed by established singer songwriter Dan Whitehouse, this songwriting workshop aims to unlock writer’s block and provide stimulus and motivation to generate new and original raw material.

Working by ear, and improvisation, not music theory based, the immersion method aims to re-connect writers with their inner-child creative self and consists of a series of simple musical games and exercises.

You will have a rough time if you go into this process thinking of it as some kind of test that will reveal how good or bad a songwriter you are, or if you treat the situation like a school assignment, in which work will be assessed by some overseeing authority. Remember you’re playing a game!

*Taking place at the Symphony Hall in the Justham Family and Jane How Room.

No smoking or vaping on the premises. All Covid-19 control measures in place at the venue must be observed
