Hello

What beautiful weather! I hope you’ve had a chance to get outside a little and enjoy it. I had the pleasure of walking to the studio this morning…a very pleasant reminder of how sunshine feels on the skin.

My gigs have been going well, the frequency of the dates has allowed me to really get into the swing of things, and I’m loving playing with my band.

Supporting Scott Matthews was an honour and a real highlight, and performing at Paul Murphy’s songwriters café was a fantastic experience – a true hidden gem.

The album’s been picking up a few reviews:

Guitarist “a serene and nuanced debut”

Maverick “reminiscent of Donovan, at his mid 1960s best…likely to achieve the higher profile his talents deserve”

R2  “you can hear the ghost of Nick Drake”

Music Week “lyrics which involuntarily swerve your gaze to the sky”

Chronicle (Danny Farragher) “consumate showman… innovative, and can move from melodic ballad to a harder edge sound with such ease”

The touring resumes this week: starting Thursday 24th in Stafford, then Liverpool at View Two Gallery (with a grand piano – exciting!), and onto Oxford on Sunday.

In June the festival season begins with Lunar, a tribute to Nick Drake in Tanworth in Arden June 4th, I’ll be on stage at 7pm. June 16th i’m at Big Session in South Derbyshire, on stage at 12:15 on the River Stage.

This Saturday May 26th I’m in session on local radio, BBC WM Introducing 7-8pm.

I’m playing a couple of interesting dates in London in June too:

June 6th – Betsey Trotwood, Farringdon

June 13th – Proud Galleries Camden – Music Week/PPL/Break out showcase
